Introduction
Menstrual hygiene is not just a health issue but a matter of dignity, education, and opportunity. In rural and urban areas across Maharashtra, thousands of adolescent girls miss school each month simply because they cannot afford sanitary products. Recognizing this barrier, Shri Sant Eknath Maharaj Charitable Trust launched its flagship Free Pad Distribution Programme for 9th–12th grade girls in schools and colleges. In less than two years, this initiative has already benefited 200,000 girls, ensuring they attend classes with confidence and comfort.

- Donate: Even ₹500 supplies pads for 80 girls for one month.
- Partner: Corporate or community sponsorships turbocharge our reach.

The Need for Action
- Educational Impact
Studies show that girls who lack access to menstrual hygiene products miss up to 20% of school days each year. This absenteeism can translate into lower grades, reduced self-esteem, and higher dropout rates. - Health and Well-being
Unsafe alternatives—such as cloth, ashes, or leaves—expose girls to infections and long-term reproductive health issues. Providing reliable sanitary supplies is a critical first step toward healthier communities.
How the Programme Works
- Fundraising & Donations
- We reach out to individual donors, corporate CSR partners, and local community groups.
- As of May 2025, the Trust has received ₹12,45,000 in donations from 180 generous supporters.
- Procurement
- Leveraging bulk-purchase agreements, we procure high-quality, biodegradable sanitary pads at ₹6 per pack.
- To date, we have bought 207,500 packs—enough to provide one month’s supply to every girl in our target cohort.
- Distribution
- Collaborating with district education officers and school principals, our volunteers conduct on-site distributions.
- We’ve reached 520 institutions across 30 districts, conducting awareness sessions alongside pad handouts.
- Monitoring & Transparency
- Every purchase is accompanied by scanned payment vouchers, and every distribution by on-ground photographs.
- All financial documents and event photos are published monthly on our website and social-media channels for public scrutiny.
